All Councils are required under the Local Government Act 2002 to produce a Local Governance Statement. This document is a collection of information about Environment Southland and the processes through which we engage our community.

It outlines what we do for, and on behalf of our community, how we make decisions and how you can influence or contribute to these decisions. The Local Governance Statement is designed to promote democracy at a local level and we hope it provides you with all the information you need to be informed and become involved. If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, please contact Michele Poole on (03) 211 5115 or email michele.poole@es.govt.nz.
