The amounts and types of solid waste produced, and the methods of disposing of this waste, and the treatment
of farm waste (such as offal) are issues for the Southland Region. This plan deals with the management of
solid waste and offal (including waste minimisation and incineration) in the Southland region. Farm tips,
offal holes, refuse disposal facilities and cleanfills in the Region are addressed.
It should be noted that this plan is currently under review and is likely to be merged with the
Regional Water Plan in future. Further information can be downloaded
