Solid Waste Plan

Purpose of the Plan

The amounts and types of solid waste produced, the methods of disposing of this waste, and the treatment of farm waste (such as offal) are issues for the Southland Region. This plan deals with the management of solid waste and offal (including waste minimisation and incineration) in the Southland region. Farm tips, offal holes, refuse disposal facilities and cleanfills in the Region are addressed.

The Solid Waste Plan became operative on 1 April 1996.
