This strategy was written to achieve the outcomes and implement the policies of the Southland Regional Land Transport Strategy. It will be a guiding document for the Southland Regional Land Transport Committee and other interested organisations to and advance walking, cycling and other forms of active transport within the Southland Region.

Mataura Catchment Strategic Water Study

The Mataura Catchment Strategic Water Study was initiated by Environment Southland to identify potential options for future water resource management which could potentially provide for future water demand while enhancing the social, cultural and environmental values associated with the Mataura River.

Regional Pest Management Strategy

The Regional Pest Management Strategy (RPMS) helps to manage pests on land, in freshwater and in the marine environment within Southland. The Strategy contains objectives and rules for managing plant, animal and marine pests within the region.

Southland Regional Road Safety Strategy

The Southland Regional Road Safety Strategy provides guidance for a coordinated regional response to the consequences of road crashes in Southland. The strategy requires the region's Road Controlling Authorities, Police and other road safety partners to work together to reduce the frequency and consequences that arise from road crashes. It has been developed and released in response to the Government's Safer Journeys 2020 Strategy in May 2010.

Water Shortage Procedure

Environment Southland has the responsibility to manage the adverse effects of water resource use. This document complements Environment Southland's other plans, which contain policies, rules and methods to manage the pressures on our water resources, by outlining our standard operational procedures during a water shortage.
