Fees

Fees and charges for resource consents

There are generally two types of charges relating to resource consents:

  1. Resource consent application and processing fees
  2. Annual administration and monitoring charges

These costs are fixed under Section 36 of the Resource Management Act 1991.

Application and processing fees

The standard application fee is required before your resource consent application will be received and processed. The fee is the same whether the application is for a new activity or is an amendment to an existing resource consent. The amount varies depending on whether the application is to be processed notified or non-notified, and on the scale of the activity. Some activities, such as riparian planting and wildlife habitat enhancement are processed free of charge.
