Proposed Civil Defence Emergency Management Group Plan

Pursuant to section 52(1) Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002, notice is hereby given that the proposed Southland Civil Defence Emergency Management Group Plan has been prepared and is now open for public submissions to Emergency Management Southland.

The proposed Southland Civil Defence Emergency Management Group Plan states:

1.   the hazards and risks to be managed by the Southland Civil Defence Emergency Management Group;
2.   the strategic, operational and administrative measures necessary to manage these hazards and risks; and
3.   the arrangements for declaring a state of local emergency in Southland.

Copies of the proposed Plan are available at the Emergency Management Southland Office on the corner of Price Street and North Road, Invercargill.

Copies may also be requested (free of charge) by contacting Emergency Management Southland by email: info@civildefence.co.nz or telephone 0800 76 88 45 (Southland only) or 03 211 5115 and ask for Emergency Management Southland.

In addition, the proposed Plan and the submission form may be downloaded from Emergency Management Southland’s website: www.civildefence.co.nz

Any person may make a submission on the proposed Plan. Submissions must be received by Emergency Management Southland no later than 16 August 2011.

Submissions may be:

1. delivered direct to Emergency Management Southland’s office on the corner of Price Street and North Road, Waikiwi, Invercargill;
2. posted to Private Bag 90116, Invercargill 9840;
3. sent by facsimile to 03 211 5252
4. emailed to info@civildefence.co.nz

Following receipt of submissions to the proposed Plan, the Southland Civil Defence Emergency Management Group will hold a public hearing for the purpose of allowing those persons who lodged submissions the opportunity to be heard in support of their submission.
