Resource Consent Hearing - Waikaia Gold Ltd

Waikaia Gold Limited has applied to Environment Southand and the Southland District Council for resource consent for the purpose of establishing an alluvial gold mining operation on the floodplain of the Waikaia River approximately 3 km downstream of the Waikaia township. The proposed mine path extends alongside the Waikaia River over a distance of approximately 5 km upstream of the Pyramid-Waiparu Road Bridge, and also extends approximately 1.5 km west of the Riversdale-Waikaia Road following the true left bank of the Garvie Burn.
