Resource Management Act Application - Fairfax Dairies Ltd

Public notice is hereby givenpursuant to S.95A Resource Management Act 1991 that the following application for resource consent has been received by Environment Southland.
Fairfax Dairies Limited, Fairfax -Resource Consent Application F155-001
The application relates to an existing dairy farm, and is for:
- a water permit to take up to 90,000 litres per day of groundwater from the Lower Aparima Groundwater Zone. The abstraction is a Restricted Discretionary Activity under Rule 23(c) of the Regional Water Plan for Southland
- a discharge permit to discharge farm dairy effluent to land from a dairy shed servicing up to 750 cows. The effluent will be spread using a low-rate irrigation system and the discharge may be deferred in adverse conditions by temporary storage in an effluent pond. The discharge is a discretionary activity under Rule 5.4.6 of the Regional Effluent Land Application Plan.
- a land use consent to construct a 2,260 m3 effluent storage pond. The land use consent is a Restricted Discretionary Activity under Rule 49(a) of the Regional Water Plan for Southland
Location: 1590 Riverton-Otautau Road, Fairfax, west of the Aparima River and between about 50m to 1800m north of Fairfax-Isla Bank Road, at about map reference NZMS 260 D46:281-337.
Legal Description of Site: Lots 1, 2, 2A and 2B DP 1916.
