RMA Application - Taha Fertilizer Ltd

Public notice is hereby givenpursuant to S.95A Resource Management Act 1991 that the following application for resource consent has been received by Environment Southland.

Taha Fertilizer Industries Ltd - Air Discharge Permit Application T276-001

Purpose: To discharge contaminants to the air from the stabilising and blending of aluminium deleted dross, made up of alumina plus some alumina, lime, gypsum and serpentine for use as a fertiliser.  The discharges to air will include gaseous components produced from the reaction of dross components with phosphoric acid in the stabilisation process, and dust emissions from the handling, blending and processing of dross and the other components.

The discharge is a discretionary activity in accordance with Rule 5.5.2(3) of the Regional Air Quality Plan for Southland.

Location: 162b Bond Row, Invercargill at or about map reference NZMS 260 E46:517-115.

Submissions on the above application must be received by Environment Southland no later than the end of working hours on Tuesday, 7 February 2012.  A submission form is available from Environment Southland. Submissions may also be forwarded by email to service@es.govt.nz

Submissions must be dated and signed (unless forwarded electronically) and must include the following information:

  1. your name, postal address and telephone number (and fax number if applicable);
  2. details of the application in respect of which you are making the submission;
  3. whether it is in support of, or in opposition to the application, or is neutral;
  4. your submissions, with reasons;
  5. the decision that you wish Council to make; and
  6. whether you wish to be heard in support of your submission

and you must serve a copy of your submission on the applicant as soon as reasonably practicable.
