Public notice is hereby givenpursuant to S.95A Resource Management Act 1991 that the following application for resource consent has been received by Environment Southland.
Southern Lights Dairy Limited - Water Permit, Discharge Permit and Land Use Consent Application - S339-001
Purpose: To abstract up to 35,000 litres of groundwater per day from the Makarewa Groundwater Zone for dairy shed wash down water. The abstraction is a discretionary activity in accordance with Rule 23(d)(ii) of the Regional Water Plan for Southland.
To discharge dairy shed effluent to 223 hectares from up to 700 cows using a low-rate ‘K-line’ irrigation system. The discharge is a discretionary activity in accordance with Rule 5.4.6 of the Regional Effluent Land Application Plan for Southland.
To construct a 2,497m³ agricultural effluent pond for the storage of dairy shed effluent. The construction is a restricted discretionary activity in accordance with Rule 49(a) of the Regional Water Plan for Southland.
