Public notice is hereby given pursuant to S.95A Resource Management Act 1991 that the following application for resource consent have been received by Environment Southland.

407 Dairies Limited, Gummies Bush - Resource Consent Application F147-001

The application is for:

  • a water permit to take up to 60,000 litres/day of groundwater.  The water take is a restricted discretionary activity under Rule 23(c) of the Regional Water Plan.
  • a discharge permit, to discharge farm dairy effluent from up to 500 cows to land by slurry tanker.  The discharge is a controlled activity under Rule 5.4.5 of the Regional Effluent Land Application Plan. 
  • a land use consent to construct a 1,858 m3 agricultural effluent storage pond.  The pond construction is a restricted discretionary activity under Rule 49(a) of the Regional Water Plan.

Purpose: Dairy farming

Location: Hill Road, Gummies Bush.  The site is east of Riverton-Otautau Road, either side of Carmichael Road, Gummies Bush, at about map reference NZMS 260 D46:267-221. 

Legal Description of Site: Lots 3 & 5 DP 13623, Sections 1-13 Block I Town of Danieltown, Sections 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 9 & 10 Block IV Town of Danieltown, and Pt Sections 36, 37, & 55 and Sections 57 & 66 Block IV Jacobs River Hundred.

Submissions on the above applications must be received by Environment Southland no later than the end of working hours on Thursday 23 February 2012.  A submission form is available from Environment Southland.  Submissions may also be forwarded by email to service@es.govt.nz

Submissions must be dated and signed (unless forwarded electronically) and must include the following information:

  1. your name, postal address and telephone number (and fax number if applicable);
  2. details of the application in respect of which you are making the submission;
  3. whether it is in support of, or in opposition to the application, or is neutral;
  4. your submissions, with reasons;
  5. the decision that you wish Council to make; and
  6. whether you wish to be heard in support of your submission

and you must serve a copy of your submission on the applicant as soon as reasonably practicable.
