RMA Application - Glentui Farms Limited

Public notice is hereby given pursuant to S.95A Resource Management Act 1991 that the following applications for resource consent have been received by Environment Southland.

Glentui Farms Limited, Dunrobin Road, Mossburn - Resource Consent Application G096-002

Purpose: to take water from the Aparima River for irrigation of up to 300 ha of pasture and to construct an intake channel in the bed of the Aparima River.  The abstraction is a discretionary activity under Rules 18(e)(i) and 18(d)(ii) of the Regional Water Plan for Southland. The primary abstraction rate is up to 150 litres per second and the supplementary abstraction rate is up to 500 litres per second, which will occur when river is above mean flow.The construction is a discretionary activity under Rule 38 of the  Regional Water Plan for Southland.

Location: 168 Dunrobin Road and 61A Waterloo Road, approximately 8 km south-southwest of Mossburn.  The intake site is at about map reference NZMS 260 E44:326-844.  The irrigation area is at about map reference NZMS 260 E44:342-854. 

Legal Description of Site:  Lot 1 DP 13593, Lot 1 DP 11168 and Lot 1 DP 308608.

Submissions on the above applications must be received by Environment Southland no later than the end of working hours on Monday, 30 January 2012.  A submission form is available from Environment Southland.  Submissions may also be forwarded by email to service@es.govt.nz

Submissions must be dated and signed (unless forwarded electronically) and must include the following information:

  1. your name, postal address and telephone number (and fax number if applicable);
  2. details of the application in respect of which you are making the submission;
  3. whether it is in support of, or in opposition to the application, or is neutral;
  4. your submissions, with reasons;
  5. the decision that you wish Council to make; and
  6. whether you wish to be heard in support of your submission

and you must serve a copy of your submission on the applicant as soon as reasonably practicable.
