Public notice is hereby given pursuant to S.95A Resource Management Act 1991 that the following application for resource consent has been received by Environment Southland.

Braeland Partnership Ltd, c/- D W & G J Fraser - Water Permit, Discharge Permit and Land Use Consent Application B120-001

Purpose:  To abstract up to 49,000 litres of groundwater per day from the Lower Aparima Groundwater Zone for dairy shed wash down water and stock drinking water.  The abstraction is a discretionary activity in accordance with Rule 23(c)(i) of the Regional Water Plan for Southland.

To discharge dairy shed effluent from up to 490 cows and calving pad effluent from up to 120 cows to up to 133 hectares using a low-rate ‘Uni-Sprinkler’ irrigation system. The discharge is a controlled activity in accordance with Rule 5.4.5 of the Regional Effluent Land Application Plan for Southland.

To construct a 330m³ agricultural effluent pond for the storage of diary shed effluent. The construction is a restricted discretionary activity in accordance with Rule 49(a) of the Regional Water Plan for Southland.

Location: 624 Gropers Bush Thornbury Road, Gropers Bush.

Submissions on the above applications must be received by Environment Southland no later than the end of working hours on Monday 27 February 2012.  A submission form is available from Environment Southland. Submissions may also be forwarded by email to service@es.govt.nz

Submissions must be dated and signed (unless forwarded electronically) and must include the following information:

  1. your name, postal address and telephone number (and fax number if applicable);
  2. details of the application in respect of which you are making the submission;
  3. whether it is in support of, or in opposition to the application, or is neutral;
  4. your submissions, with reasons;
  5. the decision that you wish Council to make; and
  6. whether you wish to be heard in support of your submission

and you must serve a copy of your submission on the applicant as soon as reasonably practicable.
