Maintenance at the Waihōpai (Community event)

A time to build on term 1 events held at the Waihōpai Restoration Site. We will do a quick recap on plant identification and learn about why we plant those species of plants at this site. The knowledge of what species to use in a restoration project can then be used at your own site. How a forest grows, and the role of people in forest restoration will be explored. It is also a great time of year for maintenance of the planting area, making sure the plants thrive over winter, learning that maintenance is an important part of any restoration project. We will also run some future planning activities to engage and excite students about achievable projects at the Waihōpai site - How would you like this area to look? What could be improved? How could this area be used? Will be great to see you there.
