We’re delighted to be bringing hugely popular weatherman Chris Brandolino, from Earth Sciences New Zealand (ESNZ), to chat all things El Niño, and what it means for us here in Southland.
What can you expect?
We’ll kick the day off with a spot of lunch and then get into the good stuff!
Chris will give us an informative and no doubt entertaining overview of what El Niño means for Southland covering:

- Tips and tricks for reading the weather
- Seasonal weather patterns expected in Southland this year The Environment Southland land sustainability team will also whip through some handy hints for cultivation and other planning tips for the season ahead.
Then it’s time to hit the field for an on-the-ground session including:
- Risks and solutions
- What’s on your mind? – a cultivation Q&A
We’ll wrap things up with a spot of afternoon tea, takeaways from the day, and networking time.
