Biosecurity & biodiversity

We're responsible for pest management within the Southland region. We work with people to ensure pest plants and animals do not impact too severely on the values that give Southland a world class environment.
Our work helps to protect New Zealand's economy and environment as well as people's social and cultural wellbeing and health from pests and diseases. It includes trying to prevent new pests and diseases from arriving, and controlling or eradicating those already present.
