This is Eric’s fourth consecutive term on the Council. He’s on several committees and is particularly interested in the future of local government in Southland.
A former long-standing National Party MP, Eric is a cattle farmer with properties in Roxburgh and the Te Anau Basin.
He and his wife, Elizabeth, have four grown children and 13 grandchildren. They live in Invercargill and are active in their local church.
Eric wants to understand what the things are that the Government thinks are a handbrake and to see through the Local Government Commission’s investigation into the council structure in Southland.
“Let’s make sure we get that right and end up in the right place.”
